Cuba's Minister of Communications speaks about republic's priorities as BRICS partner country at CIPR-2025

The partnership with BRICS opens up new opportunities for Cuba in science, technology, and international cooperation. This was stated by Cuba's Minister of Communications, Mayra Arevich Marin in an interview with TV BRICS.

"At the moment, the most interesting projects are those related to artificial intelligence, which can be developed in Cuba. They can be useful not only for our people, but also for other BRICS member countries. We see the potential for this," she noted.

Cuba acquired BRICS partner country status in 2024 and has been actively implementing joint initiatives ever since. According to the Minister, the partnership with the association has raised the status of the science and technology park in Havana.

At the same time, as the Minister emphasised, Cuba is focusing not only on the technological sphere, but also on the social one. According to her, the country's President, Miguel Diaz-Canel, has identified three key areas: work in the online environment, support for social initiatives, and improving the level of education, especially in modern IT fields. She added that the digital forum has become a significant opportunity for Cuba to expand its potential in these areas.
