Foreign Ministers of India and Uzbekistan hold talks in New Delhi

Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar held a meeting with his Uzbek counterpart Bakhtiyor Saidov. The parties discussed opportunities for expanding cooperation in the areas of investment, trade, and energy. This is reported by ANI, a partner of TV BRICS.

Following the talks, a cooperation programme between the Foreign Ministries for 2025-2026 was signed, reflecting the mutual desire to further strengthen the strategic partnership.

"It was a great pleasure to meet with my esteemed counterpart Jaishankar, India's External Affairs Minister. Our discussions reaffirmed the deep historical and cultural bonds between Uzbekistan and India, which have grown into a robust strategic partnership. During our meeting, we focused on advancing the ambitious goals set by our leaders to elevate bilateral trade and enrich dynamically expanding ties in all areas," Saidov said in a post on one of his social media accounts.

The Uzbek Minister's visit to India was timed to coincide with his participation in the 4th India-Central Asia Dialogue. The event was also attended by the heads of foreign ministries of other countries in the Central Asian region.

During the Dialogue, participants discussed issues related to strengthening ties between India and Central Asian countries, with an emphasis on trade, connectivity and technology.
