India and China signal improving relations through diplomacy and BRICS

Relations between India and China are showing signs of steady improvement, with senior Chinese officials expressing confidence in the trajectory of bilateral ties and pointing to growing cooperation within BRICS, reports ANI, a partner of TV BRICS.
Qin Jie, Consul General of China in Mumbai, stated that relations between the two countries are “moving in the correct direction”, citing continued engagement between Narendra Modi and Xi Jinping, who have held multiple meetings over the past two years.
He emphasised that upcoming multilateral engagements will provide further opportunities to strengthen ties, particularly the BRICS summit scheduled to take place in New Delhi in 2026, followed by the next summit in China. According to Qin, these events are expected to deepen cooperation and contribute to both regional stability and global development.
Earlier, Wang Yi, China’s Foreign Minister, also called for enhanced collaboration between New Delhi and Beijing. Speaking on the sidelines of the National People's Congress in Beijing, he underlined the importance of mutual support as both countries prepare to hold successive BRICS presidencies.
Wang Yi highlighted the broader global significance of closer India–China cooperation. He noted that coordinated efforts between the two countries could strengthen the role of emerging economies and provide renewed momentum for the Global South.
The both sides appear to be placing greater emphasis on dialogue, multilateral coordination and shared leadership within BRICS, positioning their partnership as a potential stabilising factor in the global system.
