Iran develops new versions of satellites to boost space branch
Cooperation between science and space agencies continues to support progress in the space industry
Iran has begun developing the second and third generations of the Kosar and Hodhod satellites, aiming to produce new models in an average timeframe of less than six months. This is reported by Mehr News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS.
The upgraded Kosar satellite combines remote sensing and Internet of Things missions, featuring improvements in control systems, communications, and algorithms.
The satellite weighs around 35 kg, reaching approximately 50 kg with additional equipment. It is planned to be deployed into a sun-synchronous orbit at an altitude of 500 km.
The construction of the first satellite version took about four years, the second two years, while the upgraded Kosar version was completed in less than one year.
