Iran–Qatar trade surges 66% amid growing export opportunities
A series of specialised trade forums will soon be held in Qatar, aimed at introducing goods from Iranian provinces
Trade between Iran and Qatar has grown by 66 per cent in the first four months of this year compared to the same period last year. This is reported by Mehr News Agency, a TV BRICS partner.
According to Iranian trade officials, this surge highlights untapped economic potential that could drive more sustainable export growth for Iran, while also aligning with Qatar’s National Vision 2030, which aims to transform the country into a regional trade hub through investments in port and logistics infrastructure.
Key to this strategy is the promotion of Iranian provincial export capabilities. A series of specialised trade forums will soon be held in Qatar, aimed at introducing goods from provinces such as Razavi Khorasan, Hamadan, and Hormozgan, each with distinct strengths ranging from agriculture and food processing to handicrafts and maritime exports.
Organised with support from Iran’s Trade Promotion Organisation and provincial industry bodies, these events are designed not only to showcase products, but also to establish long-term commercial links, develop joint ventures, and create integrated supply chains across the Gulf.
