Iran unveils anti-fog mirror heating sheet using nanotechnology

It helps prevent mirror fogging in bathrooms, lavatories, and saunas, offering low energy consumption

An Iranian tech company has designed an anti-fog mirror heating sheet using nanotechnology. The innovation operates without heating elements, instead relying on a nano-conductive paste to generate consistent and efficient warmth.

The product is designed as a thin adhesive sheet that can be easily applied to the back of mirrors of various sizes. These sheets help prevent mirror fogging in bathrooms, lavatories, and saunas, offering low energy consumption and easy installation. This is reported by IRNA, a partner of TV BRICS.

Unlike traditional methods, this heating pad doesn’t use electrical elements. Instead, it contains a conductive paste with nanoparticles, which is printed onto a polymer sheet. When current flows through it, gentle heat is produced and transferred to the mirror surface, clearing water vapour and preserving visibility.

The use of nanotechnology significantly enhances conductivity. Laboratory tests show that conventional conductive pastes offer around 467 ohms per square resistance, while nano-enhanced pastes reduce this to just 19 ohms per square, resulting in higher heat generation with less electricity. Practical trials showed the mirror temperature increased from 23°C to 44°C, effectively preventing fogging.

Other key advantages include rapid installation, adjustable temperature range, and element-free design, which contribute to its safety and durability.
