UAE remains Iran's second largest trading partner
According to the Iranian calendar, during the first two months of the current year (21 March – 21 May), Iran exported US$1.094 billion worth of non-oil products to the United Arab Emirates. This made the UAE the third-largest importer of Iranian goods in this category. This is reported by Tehran Times, a partner of TV BRICS, citing the Head of the Iranian Customs Administration (IRICA) Foroud Asgari.
During the same period, the UAE remained Iran’s largest non-oil supplier, providing goods worth US$2.596 billion.
According to the results of the last financial year, which ended on 20 March 2025, the volume of Iranian non-oil exports to the UAE amounted to US$7.2 billion. In addition, the volume of imports from the UAE to Iran reached US$21.9 billion, which made the country the main supplier of non-oil products for the Iranian economy.
Trade cooperation between Tehran and Abu Dhabi was further reinforced by a memorandum on expanding economic ties signed in May 2024.
