Vietnam and Belarus sign visa exemption agreement

The initiative aims to boost tourism and cultural exchange

Vietnam and Belarus have taken an important step towards closer bilateral relations with the signing of a visa exemption agreement for ordinary passport holders.

The agreement was signed by Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Le Thi Thu Hang and her Belarusian counterpart Evgeny Shestakov and will enter into force on 30 January 2025.

The agreement will allow citizens of both countries to travel visa-free for a maximum of 30 days per visit, with a cumulative stay of no more than 90 days per year.

The move reflects the Vietnamese government's commitment to establish reciprocal entry and exit mechanisms, promoting mutual benefits for its citizens, according to Vietnam News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS.

The signing of the agreement represents a significant breakthrough in bilateral relations between Vietnam and Belarus, strengthening friendly ties between the two nations. In addition, the initiative aims to encourage tourism and cultural exchange, as well as explore new opportunities for economic and trade cooperation.
