China to build first-class industrial workforce by 2035 for national rejuvenation
China has unveiled a plan to cultivate a world-class industrial workforce by 2035, aiming to provide a strong foundation of talent and skills to support the country’s national development and the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation through modernisation. This is reported by China Daily, a partner of TV BRICS.
The country is set to foster approximately 2,000 national-level master artisans, 10,000 provincial-level master artisans, and 50,000 city-level master artisans, all equipped with advanced technical expertise and innovative abilities.
As part of the reforms to strengthen its industrial workforce, China will promote modern vocational education to meet the demands of new industrialisation. This approach is expected to cultivate the much-needed talent to support the development of new, high-quality productive forces, contributing to the nation’s high-quality growth.
In an effort to advance the skills of the workforce, the country will roll out continuing education projects for industrial workers. Colleges and universities will be encouraged to establish training programmes and advanced courses for craftspeople, model workers, and technical experts.
Attracting young people to industrial jobs will also be a priority. To achieve this, China will strengthen policy support, offer enhanced employment services, and create platforms that connect graduates with industrial companies.
China’s long-term focus on industrial talent is a part of its strategy to promote sustainable, high-quality development and ensure that its workforce remains competitive on a global scale.
