Co-operation between TV BRICS and Iran's oldest news agency helps to integrate the agenda of the Islamic world into the BRICS+ information space
TV BRICS continues to expand its partner network in the countries that became full members of BRICS on 1 January 2024. The agreement with IRNA, one of Iran's main news agencies headquartered in Tehran, will ensure the integration of the country's economic, cultural and humanitarian agenda into the information space of the BRICS countries. TV BRICS plans to adapt news and video content from the new partner into Russian, English, Portuguese, Chinese and Spanish and distribute the materials through the partner network, which already includes more than 60 national media outlets in the BRICS countries.
TV BRICS CEO Janna Tolstikova and IRNA CEO Ali Naderi signed the memorandum.
"We welcome Iran's accession to BRICS. TV BRICS is ready to integrate the agenda of the new members of the alliance into the international information space by establishing partnerships with national media resources. IRNA is very important and strategical partner, it has very long history, the agency was established in 1934, and has the worldwide presence far beyond the Middle East, distributing news in 11 languages and covering national and world agenda. Several countries representing Islamic culture have already joined the multireligious BRICS group. At this point it is very important to develop dialogue among civilizations within the alliance and explain the difference between our cultures through shared values. There is no doubt, Iran has a lot of opportunities to offer to the world and BRICS countries particularly in the fields of international cooperation, cultural exchange, tourism development, business sector and many other areas. TV BRICS will support the unlocking of Iran's potential through co-operation with a new partner IRNA agency"![]()

Founded 90 years ago, IRNA has established an extensive correspondent network in different Iranian cities and nearly 40 countries around the world. IRNA has signed co-operation agreements with many foreign media outlets to get access to exclusive news from different regions.
Recall that the XV BRICS summit in Johannesburg (South Africa) resulted in a decision to invite six new countries, including Iran, to join the association. Later, Argentine President Javier Milei announced his refusal to join the group. Earlier, Mehr Media Group, a media company consisting of Mehr News Agency and The Tehran Times, one of the most popular international newspapers in the country, became part of the international TV BRICS network.
