Egyptian universities and the League of Islamic Universities to cooperate in the field of ecology
Egypt's Minister of Environment, Yasmine Fouad, held a meeting with Secretary-General of the League of Islamic Universities (LIU), Sami Al-Sharif. This was reported by Daily News Egypt, a partner of TV BRICS.
The two sides discussed the prospects for cooperation in the field of higher education.
In particular, they talked about co-operation in the field of training journalism and technical students. It is expected that they will be assisted in preparing graduation projects and papers on ecology and environmental protection.
The League of Islamic Universities will play a coordinating role in these initiatives. In turn, the universities will be responsible for carrying out the research.
The Environment Minister emphasised the need for cooperation with higher education institutions to address global challenges.
For his part, a representative of the League of Islamic Universities said it was important to promote the environmental agenda. He also expressed the organisation's readiness to cooperate in holding events to promote the concept of sustainable development and conscious consumption.
