India to step up digital co-operation with Angola

Indian Ambassador to Angola and the Angolan Minister of External Affairs held a meeting

During a dialogue held on Monday at the headquarters of the Ministry of External Affairs, the diplomat stressed that this is a fundamental tool to promote business and transform reality.

Tete Antonio, Angola's Foreign Minister said the government recognises the role the Asian country currently plays in the African country's economic development, based on existing cooperation agreements, but considers it possible to expand these ties. This is reported by Prensa Latina, a partner of TV BRICS.

The two sides assessed the state of bilateral co-operation, especially in political-diplomatic, economic, trade and social aspects, and discussed issues such as the resumption of the joint commission and exchange of visits between the two countries' high-level delegations.

India is Angola's third largest trading partner, accounting for about 10 per cent of the country's foreign trade, mainly through purchases of crude oil and bulk products.

According to Angola's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, bilateral trade has grown to three and a half billion dollars since 2021, while Indian exports to the African country have increased by US$452 million.
