Heads of leading media of the Republic of India will come to Kazan (Russia, Republic of Tatarstan) to take part in the 1st Business Forum “TIME: Russia - India. Mutual Efficiency”, which will be held on 8–9 October 2025 with the information support of the TV BRICS International Media Network. Foreign guests, together with their Russian colleagues, will participate in a special panel discussion, "Russia – India: Foundations of Strategic Partnership in the Media Environment".

Indian media managers will visit Kazan within the framework of the BRICS Global Media Tour, organised by TV BRICS together with the Republican Agency for Press and Mass Communications “Tatmedia”.

BRICS Global Media Tour is the media network’s own regular project for executives and leading experts of the BRICS+ media industry. Its aim is to establish practical interaction between media representatives at the largest international and all-Russian business agenda events.

Thus, the Kazan forum will bring together representatives of Asian News International (ANI), Press Trust of India (PTI), ThePrint, Mathrubhumi Group, Sadhna News, Indian Express, and Times of India.

“The discussion on cooperation between the media of India and Tatarstan is one of the key elements of the business programme of the forum, held for the first time in Kazan. Participants will discuss ideas for joint projects covering the lives of the peoples of Russia and India. An important area of media cooperation may be the exchange of professional experience,” noted Ildar Mirgalimov, First Deputy Head of the Republican Agency for Press and Mass Communications “Tatmedia”.

During the session "Russia–India: Foundations of Strategic Partnership in the Media Environment", participants will discuss the role of the BRICS media space in the context of global change, as well as new meanings and trends in its development. Particular attention will be paid to media diplomacy as a tool for strengthening peace and international cooperation and to the issues of professionalism and responsibility of the media, cultural diversity of BRICS nations and prospects for international information exchange.

“Now, more than ever, building dialogue between the media is important. We are witnessing the formation of a unified BRICS+ media space that reflects the aspiration to preserve cultural and opinion diversity and to create conditions of trust and mutual respect. The Indian dimension is one of the key areas in the work of TV BRICS, as we are linked by many years of fruitful cooperation with a broad network of national media. This platform is an excellent opportunity to exchange experience and discuss the future prospects of cooperation,” said Aleksandra Burman, Director of the International Cooperation Department at TV BRICS.

In 2024, at the XV International Economic Forum "Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum", Tatmedia and TV BRICS signed a cooperation agreement aimed at shaping a positive image of Tatarstan in BRICS+ countries and raising the visibility of the Russian region on the international stage. Events that gained wide resonance in foreign media included the BRICS Games, the BRICS and SCO Young Leaders Award, the XVI Forum “Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum”, and the Kazan Marathon, all held with the information support of TV BRICS.

The forum’s programme includes a plenary session, "Russia and India: Time for Cooperation, Time for the Regions"; thematic sections; bilateral meetings; industrial excursions; an exhibition of Russian enterprises; Indian tea tastings; the signing of cooperation agreements; and the launch of new business initiatives. Key areas of focus: oil and gas chemistry, finance and investment, agriculture, IT and digital technologies, the labour market, education and science, medicine and pharmaceuticals, media, and the film industry. The forum is held with the support of the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Embassy of India in Russia. TV BRICS acts as the international information partner of the event.

In 2024, the media network organised the BRICS Global Media Tour for heads of media from BRICS+ countries to participate in the IT Forum in Khanty-Mansiysk, included in the calendar of Russia’s BRICS Chairmanship.
