Iran's non-oil exports to Saudi Arabia increase 99-fold
Iran’s non-oil exports to Saudi Arabia have witnessed a 99-fold increase in the first nine months of the current Iranian calendar year (March–December 2024), as reported by Tehran Times, a partner of TV BRICS.
According to Ruhollah Latifi, spokesperson for the Trade Development Committee of the House of Industry, Mining, and Trade, Iran exported 58,971 tonnes of goods valued at US$23.3 million to Saudi Arabia during this period, a sharp rise from 331 tonnes worth US$235,672 in the previous year.
Among the key exports were iron and steel products, sponge iron, pistachios, raisins, carpets, glass sheets, and apples, highlighting the growing diversification of trade between the two Gulf nations.
Latifi noted that expanding political dialogue has played a crucial role in revitalising commercial exchanges, paving the way for further economic collaboration.
