TV BRICS and CGTN launch a special project "Point of View" for the BRICS Summit 2023
TV BRICS International Media Network and China's Global Television Network CGTN launched a special project "Point of View". The programme is timed to coincide with the 15th BRICS Summit, which took place in Johannesburg from 22 to 24 August 2023. The slogan of the summit is "BRICS and Africa: Partnership for mutually accelerated growth, sustainable development and inclusive multilateralism".
The special programme features leading experts from Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. They talk about the prospects of BRICS development and its role in the global economic order.
Leading experts in international relations, economics and politics shared their opinions in interviews with TV BRICS partners. Among the speakers were Elias Monage, President of the Black Business Council and member of the South African part of the BRICS Business Council, former Indian diplomat Anil Trigunayat, editor-in-chief of TV Band Channel (part of the Grupo Bandeirantes de Comunicação media conglomerate) Andre Basbaum, Director of the Institute of Asian and African Countries at Moscow State University Alexey Maslov, Head of the Council for Foreign Economic Activities of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation Andrey Spartak and others.
Professor Xue Fuqi of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in an exclusive interview spoke about one of the important areas of interaction within the BRICS association.
"BRICS countries are representatives of new emerging economies and developing countries, so one of the very important areas of interaction is a new type of cooperation within the global South. In this context, the BRICS countries actively, consistently and resolutely defend the interests of precisely developing countries on such platforms as the UN, WTO, WHO. In this way, the BRICS countries and African states could more effectively develop a common agenda on the world stage to make their voices heard and to defend our common interests"![]()
