China launches world’s first 10G network
Download speeds have reached 9,834 Mbps, with upload speeds of 1,008 Mbps
The world’s first 10G broadband network has been launched in China’s Xiong’an New Area, Hebei Province, according to the local government’s official website.
“These networks deliver a fundamentally new level of digital infrastructure. They enable 8K video playback, large-scale online gaming, and 3D content in everyday life. In education, they provide stable and high-quality online learning. In industry, they offer precise real-time equipment control and monitoring. For live streaming platforms, they allow for rapid transmission of high-definition video and an immersive experience for viewers,” the statement reads.
It is noted that the experimental project has been rolled out in two locations: Huawancheng Park and the Xiong’an High-Tech Zone. The idea is to demonstrate how such networks can operate in real-world conditions, from residential homes to industrial factories.
Earlier, it was reported that Chinese researchers are preparing to open the country’s first training centre for humanoid robots, where prototype models of various kinds will be trained for everyday and professional use.
