Chinese authorities have allocated 30 million yuan, or about 4.22 million dollars, to reconstruct infrastructure and restore the work of basic public institutions in the areas of Yunnan province in south-west China, which a week ago suffered from a landslide. This is reported by Xinhua News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS, with reference to the State Committee for Development and Reform of the People's Republic of China, engaged in economic planning of the country.

The landslide, which resulted in human casualties and great material damage, hit Zhenxiong county of Zhaotong city last Monday, 22 January. According to local authorities, 44 people were killed in the disaster. So far, search and rescue operations at the scene have been completed.

After the landslide, 918 residents of the district, living in 223 households, had to be evacuated to other areas.
