Egyptian authorities have allocated more than US$1 billion to equip medical facilities in six governorates. The announcement was made by country's Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly.
Madbouly noted that the state has channelled significant financial resources to implement health reform. Such investments are a contribution to Egypt's future, he said. This is reported by Daily News Egypt, a partner of TV BRICS.
The government plans to improve medical infrastructure and introduce digital solutions, including in densely populated regions. This is expected to make the health care system more efficient and sustainable.
In turn, Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar emphasised that the government is actively attracting the private sector. For example, the share of private hospitals in the country has increased from 59 per cent in 2011 to 63.3 per cent in 2022.
