The country's football ambitions are underway

Abiy Ahmed, Prime Minister of Ethiopia, hosted a friendly match with legendary African football players who came to Ethiopia to take part in the Shenen Africa Festival. This is reported by ENA.

The prime minister said during the function that Ethiopia had submitted a bid to host the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). He mentioned that in-depth talks about the issue have been had with the Confederation of African Football (CAF) President, Patrice Motsepe, source reports.

Ethiopia's hosting of the Africa Cup of Nations, according to Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, will undoubtedly advance the growth of Ethiopian football.

African football players are currently in Ethiopia, providing a platform to highlight Ethiopia's potential in this area.

According to the source, Ethiopia is putting a lot of effort into hosting AFCON through its ambassadors, and serious talks are now taking place, especially with the president of CAF.
