Excavations in Iranian province: archaeologists find traces of Arsanjan's ancient history

A team of archaeologists has found human traces

Stone tools and remains were discovered during a month-long excavation. The ten-member team of archaeologists worked on the project with the permission of the Research Institute for Cultural Heritage and Tourism.

This significant discovery helps illustrate the ancient history of Arsanjan and highlights the need for continued archaeological research in Fars province.

Mohammad Sabet Eqledi, the provincial tourism chief, noted that this is the first time researchers have approached this refuge, which dates back to between 7,000 and 12,000 BC. Sabet Eqledi stressed the importance of archaeological activities and the completion of research to better understand historical periods. This is reported by Tehran Times, a partner of TV BRICS.

The Fars region is the historical heart of the Persian Empire established by Cyrus the Great. It is also one of the most significant sites of the medieval Islamic world and the former capital of Iran.

Tourists can visit many historical sites such as Persepolis, Jameh Mosque and the tombs of Hafez and Sa’di.
