Minister: India becomes world’s fastest-growing economy

India’s Minister of Education, Pralhad Joshi, highlighted the country’s GDP growth

India’s Minister of Education, Pralhad Joshi, stated that India has become the world’s fastest-growing economy, noting that the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 7.8 per cent in the first quarter of 2026. This was reported by ANI, a partner of TV BRICS.

The minister emphasised that the economic successes are linked to the policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"In the first quarter of 2026, GDP growth reached 7.8 per cent. At a time when the world is grappling with so many problems and economic crises, India stands as the fastest-growing economy in the entire world today. That is India's advantage; that is the leadership of our Prime Minister," said Pralhad Joshi.

The Indian Minister of Education called on the country’s youth to contribute to the nation’s prosperity.

In 2026, India holds the BRICS Chairship. Ahead of the group’s summit, which will take place in New Delhi, the country has hosted a series of international events aimed at developing and strengthening partnerships.
