Russia expands programme of free training for citizens under the Employment Promotion project in 2024

By order of the President, new categories of citizens have been added to the existing programme

In 2023, more than 150,000 people received such training, and in 2024, the federal budget will allocate more than US$65 million for this purpose.

On behalf of the Russian President Vladimir Putin, new categories of citizens have been added to the programme, such as citizens who applied to the employment service to look for a job, disabled persons, parents or guardians on leave to care for a child under 3 years of age. This is reported by the official website of the Government of Russia.

"We expect that the decision taken will help with staffing in the regions, including through a more attentive attitude to the needs of our enterprises and our employers. And those who have undergone retraining will find it easier to find a job to their liking"

Mikhail Mishustin Russian Prime Minister

At the same time, the right to free retraining is retained for citizens aged 50 and over, non-working mothers of pre-school children, certain categories of young people under 35, as well as those who are unemployed or at risk of dismissal.
