Saudi Arabia organises mango festival

The event is aimed at promoting agricultural products and supporting farmers

The Mango Festival is celebrating its 13th season in the Saudi city of Al-Qunfudah on the Red Sea coast. The event, organised by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in the Makkah region, will run until the end of the week.

The festival aims to promote mangoes and other agricultural products, support farmers in marketing and develop agriculture in the Kingdom.

The festival showcases different varieties of mangoes including Tommy Atkins, Sensation and Langra grown around the city, where more than 3,000 farmers are active. This is reported by Arab News.

The Mango Festival is an important event that attracts buyers and lovers of quality agricultural products. It also features educational programmes for farmers and entertainment for guests.

Saudi Arabia has been growing mangoes for more than half a century and last year the country's mango production rose to 88,600 tonnes.
