Women's achievements are celebrated at annual BRICS CCI WE summit

New Delhi hosted the 4th annual summit of BRICS CCI WE, the women's empowerment vertical of the BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry, reports IANS, a partner of TV BRICS. The motto of the event was "The Changing Narrative: Women Development to Women-led Development".

The summit was attended by diplomats from Russia, China, Brazil, South Africa, Iran, Cuba, Costa Rica, Chile, Belarus, Gambia, Angola, Chad, Comoros, Venezuela and other countries.

Sonal Mansingh, a politician, classical Indian dance performer and recipient of India's highest civilian honours Padma Vibhushan, was the chief guest of the event.

"Women's leadership is indispensable in building a more equitable and prosperous society," she said.

Indian actress, entrepreneur and politician Poonam Dhillon was honoured with the BRICS CCI WE Trailblazer Lifetime Achievement award for her career achievements that have not only enriched the entertainment industry but also launched women's leadership in various fields.

"The fourth Annual Summit and Felicitations of BRICS CCI WE marks another milestone in our journey towards promoting women-led development," said B. B. L. Madhukar, Director General of BRICS CCI.

The event recognised the achievements of aspiring women entrepreneurs both within and outside the BRICS CCI network. Vice Chairman of BRICS CCI Ashok Kr Singh, Director of BRICS CCI UAE Chapter Ankita Sachdeva, Vice Chairman of BRICS CCI Ruhail Ranjan and other leaders attended the summit.
