The central bank published on Monday the monthly index of economic activity (Imacec) for April, which shows that economic activity in the country grew by 3.5 per cent. This is reported by El Ciudando, a partner of TV BRICS.
According to the autonomous agency, the expansion is mainly due to three additional working days in April this year compared to the same month last year.
In addition, the report shows that the production of goods increased by 4.8 per cent year-on-year, highlighting the growth in power and food production in the industry.
The services sector also recorded a 2.9 per cent year-on-year growth, emphasising personal services and transport. In seasonally adjusted terms, growth was 0.2 per cent on the previous month.
