TV BRICS starts information exchange with Iran's largest TV and radio company
TV BRICS International Media Network is strengthening its work in the Middle East and starting information exchange with the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB). The corresponding agreement was signed by Abbas Mohammad-Nejad, Director General of International Affairs and Janna Tolstikova, CEO of TV BRICS. The partners' interaction is aimed at strengthening the BRICS countries' co-operation in the field of media communications and shaping an objective international information agenda.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting is a respected and reliable source of news about events in the country, so its materials are of great interest to foreign audiences, all the more so against the backdrop of the progressive development of BRICS. A credible international media landscape, which TV BRICS aims to create, can only be created with the participation of the leading media of different countries – bearers of national spirit and identity. For our part, we are ready to provide comprehensive assistance to IRIB in promoting Iran's agenda in the BRICS format and beyond, as well as to share important news from other countries with the Iranian audience"
Janna Tolstikova CEO of TV BRICS
The Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting is the state broadcaster of Iran and one of the largest media organisations in Asia. It is headquartered in Tehran. IRIB comprises regional TV channels in each ostan (province) of Iran, 20 national and several international TV channels, as well as a number of radio stations, news portals and print media.
In the first phase, TV BRICS will work with IRIB News Agency portal, regional and national TV channels, Sahab channel of the IRIB World Service ( Pars Today portal, Iran Radio), International TV channel PressTV and IRIB MEDIA TRADE distributor providing access to exclusive Iranian content and resources.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting is the country's only national radio and television organisation and one of the largest media institutions in the world, comprising more than 100 local, national and international radio stations and TV channels broadcasting and producing a variety of news, feature, sports and documentary content. The organisation is the main vehicle of Iran's media diplomacy and pays special attention to media cooperation with independent countries. With Iran joining BRICS, it is important to work together to build capacity and promote greater and better co-operation among the group's member countries. This co-operation can lead to the creation of a unified media space in the future. In this regard, the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting and TV BRICS is an important milestone in this direction," Abbas Mohammad-Nejad said.
TV BRICS partners in Iran also include Mehr News Agency, The Tehran Times newspaper (part of Mehr Media Group) and IRNA.
