UAE and Brazil issue joint statement to mark the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations
Broad bilateral cooperation in governmental matters is encouraged by the strategic relationship between the two nations
To commemorate their 50 years of diplomatic ties, the Federative Republic of Brazil and the United Arab Emirates released a joint statement. This is reported by Emirates News Agency (WAM), a partner of TV BRICS.
In 1978, Brazil established an embassy in Abu Dhabi, while in 1991, the UAE opened its first embassy in Latin America in Brasilia. The joint statement pointed out that the creation of an Emirati consulate in Sao Paulo in 2017 further increased this diplomatic presence.
The United Arab Emirates and Brazil have formed a strategic partnership that aims to expand bilateral government and investment cooperation in a range of industries, including technology, tourism, culture, space exploration, trade, and renewable energy.
