Brazil's industrial growth rate in April is the fastest in almost 3 years
The Lula government's "New Industry Brazil" programme has already allocated billions this year to industrial projects
Brazil's industrial sector started the second quarter with its strongest growth in almost three years as a surge in new business in April boosted output and job creation.
The Purchasing Managers' Index for Brazil's manufacturing sector, rose to 55.9 in April from 53.6 in March, the strongest improvement in working conditions since July 2021.
The survey released on Thursday said the improvement in the index was driven by positive demand effects on indicators such as sales, production, employment and purchase inventories.
The need to build capacity forced Brazilian manufacturers to increase staff numbers at the fastest pace in 21 months. This is reported by Brasil 247, a partner of TV BRICS.
Strengthened confidence in the production outlook also fuelled employment growth. Improved demand, capacity investment, lower interest rates and diversification of production lifted optimism to its highest level in three months.
