Egypt leads Africa in foreign direct investment growth with 373% surge

The achievement is viewed as a strong indication of investor confidence in Egypt’s long-term economic vision

Egypt has ranked first in Africa for foreign direct investment inflows in 2024, achieving a record growth rate of 373 per cent, according to the World Investment Report issued by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development.

The announcement was made during a joint press conference held on 19 June 2025 by Egypt’s Ministry of Planning and Economic Development and the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade. This is reported by Sada El-Balad, a partner of TV BRICS.

These reforms are aimed at empowering the private sector, increasing its contribution to Egypt’s gross domestic product and export performance.

According to the source, the achievement is viewed as a strong indication of investor confidence in Egypt’s long-term economic vision and its strategic commitment to sustainable development and international cooperation.
