Egyptian official emphasises importance of maritime transport for country's economy

The future of the country's maritime transport is geared towards the development of multimodal modes of transport

Amr El-Samadouni, Secretary-General of the International Transportation and Logistics Services Division at the Cairo Chamber of Commerce, notes the important role of maritime transport in Egypt's economic development.

The state is keen to improve ports and modernise infrastructure to stimulate sustainable growth. Ports play a key role in accommodating industry and supporting domestic production.

The Egyptian government is actively working with international companies to improve ports and enhance their global ranking. The future of maritime transport until 2030 aims to develop multimodal modes of transport, including seaports, railways and river transport.

The development of maritime transport remains an important priority. This is reported by Daily News Egypt, a partner of TV BRICS.

Maritime transport plays a key role in global trade, accounting for more than 90% of Egypt's foreign trade. Improving port logistics affects exports, imports, balance of payments and living standards.
