Venezuela and China strengthen strategic cooperation in finance and energy
Cooperation between the two countries is at the core of their relationship and aims to strengthen the Global South and develop an inclusive economy
The Executive Vice President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodriguez, completed her first day in Beijing, where she held two important meetings with Chinese authorities.
In a meeting with Zheng Shanjie, chairman of China's National Development and Reform Commission, a new agreement was signed to expand cooperation in the strategic areas of finance and energy.
Rodriguez also met with Chinese Vice Premier Han Zheng at the Great Hall of the People, where they reviewed the progress of the cooperation programme developed during President Nicolas Maduro's visit in September 2023.
The Vice President emphasised that the strategic relations between the two countries have been strengthened under the leadership of Presidents Maduro and Xi Jinping, as reported by Venezolana de Television (VTV), a partner of TV BRICS.
"Since the visit of President Nicolas Maduro, the strategic relationship with President Xi Jinping has been strengthened," he emphasised.
In his speech, Rodriguez emphasised that energy and financial cooperation between the two countries is the foundation of their relationship, and they are focused on strengthening the Global South and promoting an inclusive economy.
