Brazil sets record in tourism sector

Foreign investment reached R$526 million (US$85,4 million), up 278% compared to the same period in 2023


Brazil has become one of the most attractive destinations for foreign investment in the tourism sector, registering significant growth in 2024, reports Brasil 247, a partner of TV BRICS.

Between January and September this year, the country generated international revenues of more than R$1.28 billion (US$207,9 million), 231 per cent more than in the same period in 2023, according to data from the Ministry of Tourism, based on information from the Central Bank.

In recent months, foreign investment totalled R$526 million (US$85,4 million), 278 per cent more than in the same period of 2023. Among the sectors that have benefited the most are transport, culture, and leisure.

The number of tourists in Brazil is also growing. In November 2024, international tourist traffic to the country exceeded 5.967 million people, breaking historical records for the first 11 months of the year. In November alone, 560,732 people visited Brazil, 11.2 per cent more than in the same month in 2023.
