Brazilian authorities present plan to develop tourism industry until 2027
Thanks to tourism, new jobs appear in the country
At the VIII Tourism Salon "Discovering Brazil", held in Rio de Janeiro, a national plan for the development of the hospitality industry was presented. This was reported by Brasil 247, a partner of TV BRICS.
According to the objectives of the programme, it is expected to increase the number of domestic trips from 93 million to 150 million, and the expected income from international tourism to US$8.1 billion. Another target is to increase the number of jobs in the industry to 3 million.
Tourism Minister Celso Sabino attributed the tour industry's success to the expansion of hotel chains, more flights, and rising incomes.
"The pace of development of Brazil's tourism industry is impressive. Since 1 January 2023, more than 50 thousand new jobs have already been created," the minister said.
When creating the tourism development programme, the principles of sustainable development, application of innovations and implementation of information technology were taken into account. In parallel, 20 sectoral programmes and projects have been developed.
