Leaders of UAE and India discuss strengthening strategic partnership in New Delhi

The meeting focused on expanding cooperation in the field of technology and AI

UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi held talks in New Delhi. The main topics of discussion were joint projects in technology, artificial intelligence, renewable energy, space, and food security. This was reported by the Emirates News Agency (WAM), a partner of TV BRICS.

The leaders of the two countries reaffirmed their shared commitment to deepening their comprehensive strategic and economic partnership. They noted significant progress in bilateral relations and stressed the importance of regular meetings to expand mutual interests.

During the talks, the parties also exchanged views on a number of topical regional and international issues. The talks took place during the UAE president's working visit to India at the invitation of Narendra Modi.

Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan congratulated the Indian side on the upcoming Republic Day, celebrated on 26 January. He also wished India success during its BRICS presidency in 2026, as well as in hosting the artificial intelligence summit in February.

The Indian Ministry of External Affairs website notes that UAE and India are leading trade and investment partners. Cooperation is supported by the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), a local currency settlement system and a bilateral investment treaty. Energy cooperation includes long-term supply agreements.

This is Mohammed bin Zayed's third official visit to India as President of the UAE. The meeting was accompanied by a delegation of high-ranking Emirati officials.
