The first train for the monorail project is delivered to Sao Paulo from China

The new mode of transport is scheduled to be launched in 2026

Sao Paulo has received the first of 14 trains supplied by a Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer for the Brazilian metropolis' first monorail. This is reported by CCTV+, a partner of the TV BRICS.

The line is scheduled to be launched in the first half of 2026. The new mode of transport is expected to help solve the problem of traffic congestion in the city.

Each train consists of five carriages with a total capacity of 600 passengers. The head of the supplier company from China, Tyler Lee, noted that innovative technologies were actively used in the implementation of the project. In particular, the train does not need a driver, it is fully automatic. In addition, thanks to the air suspension, passengers will feel more comfortable.

As China continues to develop technologies in the field of new energy sources, the Brazilian government is actively seeking opportunities for cooperation. Tarcisio de Freitas, governor of Sao Paulo state, praised the achievements of PRC companies, noting that the monorail system is planned to be expanded in the future, including through co-operation with Chinese suppliers.
