Beijing unveils world's first all-terrain robot rescuers

Mechanical savior can move three different ways and work in freezing cold and scorching heat

A significant advancement in emergency robotics was unveiled in Beijing with the introduction of two rescue robots. According to People's Daily Online, a partner of TV BRICS, one is designed for first aid and the other for casualty transport. These innovative machines, developed by Chinese research teams, are the first of their kind in the world.

Equipped with three distinct mobility modes: legged, wheeled, and tracked. The robots can perform a wide range of movements, including walking, running, stair climbing, slope navigation, obstacle avoidance, and terrain traversal. Their robust design ensures stable operation in extreme temperatures, from -20°C to 55°C, making them highly versatile for various critical scenarios.

Potential applications include disaster relief, emergency response, battlefield medical support, and hospital logistics. These cutting-edge robots are expected to significantly improve efficiency and safety in life-saving operations under challenging conditions.
