Brazilian beef exports are expected to hit new record in 2025
China was the main destination for Brazilian beef exports in 2024
Brazil exported 2.89 million tonnes of beef in 2024, setting new records and registering a 26 per cent increase over the previous year, as reported by Brasil 247, a partner of TV BRICS.
In addition to beef, the country also achieved unprecedented figures in chicken meat exports, ending the year with 5.29 million tonnes exported, which represents a 3 per cent increase compared to 2023.
The data released by the federal government and analysed by the Brazilian Association of Meat Exporters (ABIEC) shows that the total volume exported of the two proteins generated US$12.8 billion for beef and US$9.9 billion for chicken.
ABIEC president Roberto Perosa highlighted the historic achievements of the Brazilian agribusiness sector and commented on the outlook for the market in 2025.
"It was a historic year [2024] for the national beef industry, for the livestock sector and for Brazil [...]. Although it's still too early to make any predictions, I believe that 2025 has great potential for us to surpass our export and turnover records," he said.
Among the countries that imported Brazilian meat, China maintained its leading position, with 1.33 million tonnes purchased, generating revenues of US$6 billion and further consolidating the trade partnership between the two countries.
