Chinese athletes qualify for finals of FIS World Championships
Six out of eight athletes from China have advanced to the aerials finals of the FIS Snowboard, Freestyle, and Freeski World Championships.
In the women's qualification rounds, China's Xu Mengtao and Chen Xuezheng successfully performed Back Double Full-Full jumps with a difficulty factor of 3.525. Xu placed second in the first round with 90.24 points and Chen was sixth with 82.83 points, securing her place in the final. This is reported by CGTN, a partner of TV BRICS.
Xu was joined in the finals by her teammate Shao Qi, who performed a back Full-Full with a difficulty factor of 3.150, earning 85.99 points and placing third in the first round of qualifying.
Chen Meiting, who chose the back layout Full-Full in the first round, landed unsuccessfully and placed ninth. However, she increased the difficulty in the second round by performing a back flip triple Full and despite the mistake, she still qualified for the final with 77.33 points.
In the men's competition, Wang Xindi and Sun Jiaxiu also qualified for the finals. All four Chinese athletes chose the back layout double Full-Full in the first round with a difficulty factor of 4.425.
Wang performed the jump perfectly but made a small mistake on landing, earning 116.37 points and placing third, qualifying him for the finals.
