Cuba seeks to become leader in artificial intelligence
Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel has expressed the country's aspirations to take a leading position in artificial intelligence (AI), stressing the need for accelerated development in this area. This is reported by Prensa Latina, a partner of TV BRICS.
"We must do the same thing that has been done with biotechnology, because we have the potential to take a leading position in a short period of time," Miguel Diaz-Canel emphasised.
He called for the integration of AI into all university programmes, including social and medical sciences, where he said AI is already being used extensively around the world. The president also noted the importance of sharing AI advances between different organisations and sectors, he said.
