Egypt plans to expand establishment of nurseries and kindergartens

Egypt held a meeting of the Higher Consultative Committee for Human Capital Development. The meeting discussed measures to improve the education and healthcare systems, according to Daily News Egypt, a partner of TV BRICS.

Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Egypt’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, emphasised the importance of integrating these spheres to create a healthy and educated generation. The participants of the meeting paid special attention to the development of early childhood programmes, expansion of the network of kindergartens and nurseries, as well as improvement of school nutrition.

Minister of Education Mohamed Abdel Latif noted that literacy measures will be strengthened in primary schools, and curricula will be adapted to global educational standards. In addition, new initiatives are planned to combat child malnutrition.

Following the meeting, the authorities agreed to coordinate between agencies to turn the discussed initiatives into concrete projects with clear timelines for implementation.
