Iran’s young weightlifters perform strongly at World Championships in Peru

Iran’s junior and youth weightlifting teams achieved solid results at the recent World Championships, winning a combined total of 24 medals (10 gold, 9 silver, and 5 bronze) and securing the team title.

The competition saw consistent performances across different weight classes. In the women’s events, an Iranian lifter earned silver and bronze in the 64kg category. The men’s team also had success, particularly in the heavier divisions, where multiple medals were secured.

The super-heavyweight category featured a close contest between two Iranian athletes, who took gold and silver in all lifts. This is reported by Pars Today, a partner of TV BRICS.

The team’s success was spread across different disciplines, with medals in both individual lifts and overall totals. A returning champion in the 109kg class defended his title, while newer competitors also made an impact.
