Iran sets new record in oil exports to China

March shipments exceed 1.8 million tonnes

Iran’s daily crude shipments to China reached 1.91 million barrels. At least 1.8 million tonnes of Iranian oil arrived in China in March, transported by 10 tankers, as reported by ParsToday, a partner of TV BRICS.

Speaking at the 59th virtual meeting of the OPEC+ Joint Ministerial Monitoring Committee (JMMC), Iran’s Oil Minister, Mohsen Paknezhad, emphasised the importance of adhering to OPEC+ production agreements, stating, "Effective monitoring on the implementation of the OPEC+ decisions and commitment to the agreed level of production is very vital [...] for oil producers and consumers and the global economy in general."

It was previously reported that non-oil trade between Iran and China reached US$34.1 billion in the past Iranian year. China was the main destination of Iranian exports with US$14.8 billion. With imports from China to Iran totalling US$19.3 billion, China ranks as the second-largest supplier of goods to the country.
