Iran to launch nationwide medical tourism management system to boost healthcare sector

The system will be fully implemented at the start of the new Iranian year

Iran is set to introduce a comprehensive medical tourism management system across the country, as reported by Tehran Times, a partner of TV BRICS.

This initiative aims to streamline healthcare services for international patients and strengthen Iran’s position as a leading destination for medical tourism.

According to experts, the system will be fully implemented at the start of the new Iranian year (March 21, 2025).

The initiative will allow foreign patients to be referred to private clinics, which will help reduce the burden on public healthcare facilities and boost the industry's growth.

For sustainable development, officials called on policymakers to simplify administrative procedures, improve inter-agency collaboration, and leverage private healthcare resources.

With the nationwide rollout of the medical tourism management system, Iran aims to optimise healthcare services, attract more international patients, and position itself as a key player in the global medical tourism market, the source claims.
