Iranian high-tech companies supply 40% of Russia’s DCS technology needs

This figure is expected to rise significantly, potentially exceeding US$6–7 million per year

Iranian high-tech firms are playing a crucial role in Russia’s industrial sector, supplying 40 per cent of the country’s demand for Distributed Control Systems (DCS), as reported by Pars Today, a partner of TV BRICS.

DCS, advanced automation systems, are essential for managing complex processes in power plants, petrochemical facilities, and water management industries.

These systems provide a fully digital architecture, enabling seamless communication between human operators, industrial processes, and production facilities. This integration enhances operational efficiency while minimising process disruptions.

Since 2013, Iranian companies have been developing and deploying DCS technology, with installations at major Iranian refineries and petrochemical plants.

The demand for Iranian DCS technology is particularly strong in Russia’s oil and gas sector, contributing approximately US$1 million in annual revenue. However, as Iranian firms secure additional regulatory approvals, this figure is expected to rise significantly, potentially exceeding US$6–7 million per year, experts believe.
