National stage of KARDO competition-award completed in UAE
The best athletes will represent the country in the Grand Final to be held in Stavropol from 21 to 24 August
The United Arab Emirates hosted the national qualifying stage of the international street culture and sports award "KARDO" organised by the platform "Russia – the Country of Opportunities". TV BRICS is the international media partner of the event.
"It is pleasant to realise that the Russian project has gone beyond the borders of our country and achieved recognition at the international level," said Valentin Rabotenko, Director General of the "KARDO" Foundation.
The competition in Dubai was held in the largest skate park of the city. 31 skateboarders took part, having passed the preliminary selection. The winner in this discipline was Nicola Milleret, who will go to Russia for the finals.
"This year is the first time the United Arab Emirates is participating in the "KARDO" Awards and our athletes have shown a decent level. Street culture in our country is rapidly developing, this cannot but please," emphasised Alex Mizurov, the UAE Ambassador of the award.
The stage was organised by the "KARDO" Charitable Foundation, the "Russia – the Country of Opportunities" platform, the Presidential Grants Foundation and TV BRICS.
"KARDO" is the first and only project in Russia in the sphere of street culture and sports. Since its launch, representatives from 125 countries have taken part in it. The initiative unites ambassadors from Latin America, the Middle East, Asia, Africa, and Europe.
