Russia conducted 17 successful space launches in 2025
Achievements in the space sector and export growth discussed at the Kremlin
Russia’s First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov presented positive results of industrial development for 2025 during a working meeting with President of the country Vladimir Putin. Manufacturing industries recorded growth of around 3 per cent, while investment in these sectors rose by 23 per cent over three quarters. This was reported on the Kremlin’s official website.
Particularly strong growth was demonstrated by the pharmaceutical, medical, and radio-electronic industries (over 15 per cent), as well as the chemical complex, including mineral fertilisers (more than 6 per cent). State support through special investment contracts, preferential loans and other measures made it possible to launch more than 170 new production projects last year.
Exports of Russia’s competitive products increased by 18 per cent over the first ten months of 2025.
“We are opening trade missions precisely in those regions where we see growing interest in our products. These are Africa, Latin America, Southeast Asia and the Middle East, not to mention the CIS and the Eurasian Economic Union,” Manturov said. He noted a reorientation of exports towards these destinations – from 60 per cent to 80 per cent.
The rocket and space industry recorded revenue growth of 10 per cent. In 2025, 17 launches were carried out, including the successful launch of the Angara-A5 rocket from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome, which placed a satellite into geostationary orbit. This is an environmentally friendly rocket using oxygen–kerosene fuel. In the future, the rocket will be used to carry out missions related to the Russian Orbital Station, crewed spaceflight and lunar exploration tasks.
Russia’s satellite orbital constellation increased to 300 spacecraft. From 2026, the provision of Earth remote sensing imagery services will be organised under a new framework, with plans to involve private businesses.
