Thailand unveils AI roadmap

An invention prioritises skills training, infrastructure, and data access to accelerate digital transformation and strengthen global competitiveness

The Southeast Asian nation has announced a comprehensive artificial intelligence strategy designed to establish itself as a key player in advanced technology while boosting economic progress. This is reported by Vietnam News Agency (VNA), a partner of TV BRICS.

The newly revealed plan focuses on workforce development, infrastructure investment, and data accessibility to accelerate AI adoption nationwide.

Authorities have set high training targets, aiming to create millions of technologically proficient citizens within two years. The initiative seeks to cultivate three tiers of expertise: basic AI literacy for the general population, specialised skills for professionals, and advanced capabilities for technical developers.

The strategy emphasises critical infrastructure upgrades, including next-generation computing facilities and shared digital resources. A centralised repository will aggregate high-value datasets from multiple industries to fuel innovation while maintaining cost efficiency for businesses and researchers.
