Young engineers present innovative projects at international conference in Russia

The jury will evaluate 300 final works from schoolchildren from 15 countries

The international scientific and practical conference "Start to Innovate" has come to an end in Russia. Schoolchildren from Russia, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Turkey, China, the UAE, and other countries fought for the victory. TV BRICS is the media partner of the event.

The finals took place in the technopark of the “Phystech-Lyceum” of Natural Sciences and Mathematics named after P. L. Kapitza in Dolgoprudny (Moscow Oblast).

Out of 4.5 thousand participants, 300 high school students from 15 countries made it to the finals. They presented their developments in bioengineering, robotics, and green energy to a jury of industry experts and young scientists.

Among the finalists was Igor Terekhin from the Penza region of Russia. He created an illuminated helmet that helps prevent accidents with motorcyclists.

"The helmet consists of two parts: an indicator repeater and a sensor in the motorbike. The sensor detects signals – turn signals on, turn signals off, brake lights – and the repeater duplicates them," Igor explains.

Artem Iskrin presented a system for analysing the efficiency of green technologies for large buildings.

"The transition to natural energy sources is inevitable. Conventional carriers pollute the atmosphere and are gradually exhausted," he says.

Anel Mukhametova from Kazakhstan has developed a smart filter, a portable unit that purifies water and shows its quality in real time.

"In Alma-Ata, tourists often face a shortage of clean water. Taking bottles is inconvenient and bad for the environment. So we came up with a compact solution," says Anel.

Another finalist is Nazima Khudaibergenova from Kazakhstan. Her project is a bionic eye controlled by electromyographic signals and a joystick.

"Many people with visual impairment find it difficult to adapt in the world around them. I want to help them," Nazima explains.

The winners of the TV BRICS special nomination for the relevance, innovativeness and high potential of the project were separately recognised. The winners were 10th grade students of the Kapitsa Phystech-Lyceum Egor Belenky and Artem Shitikov. Their project Models of Development of Different Countries was recognised as one of the most promising at the conference.

The winners of the conference will be announced later.
